Is Your Dog Aggressive Toward Adults, Children, Dogs, Other Animals..... or You?
CPC offers an aggression rehabilitation program for dogs with mild to extreme aggression issues.
Your dog will first be evaluated by Suzi Schaefers, Master Trainer of Canine Psychology Center, with 27 years of experience in dealing with extremely aggressive dogs.
Your dog will be given a numerical evaluation, 1 - 5. (1 being the least amount of aggression, such as barking when people come to the door/house/yard. 5 being the highest level of aggression; such as a handler-aggressive dog, or a dog that attacks 'outsiders' without warning, or a dog that that has bitten adults, children, dogs or other animals repeatedly 'without provocation', etc.)
Your dog will be assigned a customized training program to suit the needs of your family and to fit the requirements of your dog's level of aggression.
You will be taught to maintain the high level of training given to your dog by CPC throughout the dog's lifetime.
A trainer is available during business hours via phone or email in case of aggression emergencies. There is no such thing as a dumb question!
Dogs with aggression issues need specialized handling/training and Suzi has 25 years of experience dealing with extremely aggressive dogs.
This program takes a no-nonsense approach to dog aggression - dogs are rehabilitated, owners are trained.
The main focus of this program is producing a calm, stable and well balanced dog that is no longer a danger to society, to the family or to other animals.
Aggression rehabilitation includes obedience commands when needed (which is every day) but, the main focus is the dog's aggression rehabilitation.
The Board & Train program is HIGHLY recommended for dogs with aggression issues. The reason behind this is that most aggressive/dominant dogs do not view their owners as 'pack leaders'. If this is the case, attempting to correct aggression can cause dogs to strike out at their owners, correcting their owners the way they would correct another dog... with a bite! (Dogs from 7 months to 10 years will be accepted for the board and train.)
Dog-aggressive dogs learn to be part of a 'calm and stable pack' while at CPC. Keeping a dog away from members of its own species causes it to forget how to socialize and just be a dog.
Human-aggressive dogs learn to relax around people and not feel the need to bite or attack.
